Having conquered "150 million active users worldwide," the Czech publisher has announced the availability of Avast! 7 for Mac OS X.

Avast just put to the general public yesterday the final version of its antivirus for Mac (OS X 10.5.x Leopard, OS X 10.6.x. 10.7.x and OS X Lion). Already used by nearly 150 million users worldwide, this protection similar to that existing in its PC version 7 is at present available in English.
Since the appearance of Flashback, the Trojan who recently infected 600 000 in the Mac world, software protection are opening a huge market in the Macosphère. According to Kaspersky, Norton, Sophos, Symantec, and TrendMicro NetBarrier, Avast announces a new version of Avast! Free Antivirus for Mac. "In tests, the Mac users with the software were fully protected against malware such as Trojan Flashback" says Steckler, CEO of Avast Software.
